Thank you, Tunisia! - December 14, 2009
Last weekend's show in Tunisia was truly a memorable event for us. As the first Swedish band ever (from what we heard) to play in the country, we were greeted by more than 4000 devoted fans at the La Coupole d'el Menzah stadium in central Tunis, and the whole gig was a great experience.
So - thanks to everyone who participated and made it possible. Looking forward to seeing you again!

That's right - on Jan 29, we'll play at the BANDIT ROCK AWARDS in Stockholm. This will be the live premiere for one of our new songs from the "We are the void" album, so don't miss this event.
We finally got around to updating the tattoo page, and there are now no less than 67 awesome tattoos featured. We know that here are a lot more out there, so feel free to take photos of your D.T. ink and send to darkhq@gmail.com.
A tip to our Scandinavian followers: The new issue of Close-up magazine includes a D.T. cover feature which might be the most extensive and candid interview with us so far. Available now in a store near you.
TURKEY TOUR CANCELLED! - December 1, 2009
Right now, a mere 15 hours before planning to leave for the airport, we got informed by the promotor Unirock that the entire Turkish tour has been cancelled.
This is incredibly frustrating for us. Turkey is the home of some of the most passionate and devoted D.T. fans on the planet, and we very much looked forward to the adventure of playing not only Istanbul but other cities as well.
We've spent lots of time and energy preparing for these shows; rehearsing, hiring crew, fixing merchandise and working out an enormous amount of practical and logistical details, and to see it all getting cancelled in the very last minute is extremely disappointing.
We understand that the people that planned to go to the shows will be very upset and disappointed by this news, and we want it to be crystal clear that we - the band - had no part in the cancellation.
We hope to able to return to Turkey as soon as possible.

You should follow us on Twitter - November 22, 2009
The web landscape is changing, and to our great surprise we've found that Twitter isn't the complete waste of time we once considered it to be. It's actually a quick and easy way of sharing certain stuff (interview/review links, short tour/studio updates etc) that isn't necessarly big enough news to warrant being posted on our main website.

D.T. confirmed for Close-Up Båten cruise - October 18, 2009
On a more positive gig related note, we have the pleasure of announcing that we'll return to the seven seas and play at the Close-up båten cruise once again. The show we played on the same ship back in 2007 was one of the highlights of that year, so it'll be a blast to return. The event will take place on Februry 25-26. More info can be found via the link below:
At the 2007 cruise, we played "Focus shift" live for the first time (see below), and there's a fair chance that some songs from the upcoming album will make it to the setlist in February.
Hellflame performance cancelled - October 14, 2009
We hereby inform you that our show at the Hellflame festival is cancelled. Here is the official statement from the band and The Agency Group, our booking agent.
Unfortunately, the promoter of Hellflame festival has gone dark. He is not responding to any attempts of communication and has not lived up to his end of the agreement in terms of making the necessary travel arrangements and so forth, which leaves us to believe that he is not intending to go through with the show. It is very frustrating for us that people will show up at the door expecting a DT performance without being informed of the situation and we want to do what we can to avoid this. We apologize to our German fans for any inconvenience and hope that we get the chance to meet you this December instead at the "Darkness over X-mas" tour.
Laptop/iPod skins now available - October 12, 2009

Album recordings to start tomorrow - August 27, 2009
That's right folks - starting tomorrow, we'll lock ourselves up in various dark caverns and dungeons to immortalize our next full length album. As usual, we'll focus on the actual studio work, so there won't be any super extensive day-to-day reports on the progress, but expect some updates on our Facebook and Twitter pages (addresses below).
"Where death is most alive" DVD - release info - August 21, 2009
After a lot of work, we're proud to announce that the "Where Death Is Most Alive" DVD will see the light of day on October 26th, 2009 in Europe and November 17th, 2009 in North America via Century Media Records. This little baby took quite some time to deliver, but when you'll see the scope and quality of the material, you'll understand why it wasn't done over a fortnight.
Our first official DVD, "Live damage" (2002), was OK for its time, but hardly spectacular, so this time we wanted to make sure that we could offer people something more substantial that would live up to the high expectations. For the main feature, we had our headline show in Milano last October professionally documented by Finnish production company Vasara Films. As expected, they did a stellar job with both the filming and editing and really managed to capture the vibe of the evening. Italy is home to some of the most devoted and enthusiastic D.T. fans on earth, something which is very obvious from the footage. The show is the longest one in D.T. history (and one of the very last concerts held at the legendary Rolling Stone club), and features a guest performance by Nell Sigland on "The Mundane and the Magic" and "Insanity's crescendo". For the mixing, we once again let Tue Madsen work his magic at his Antfarm Studios in Denmark, and the result is simply amazing.
In addition to that, Village Road films have put together "Out Of Nothing", a true stroll-down-memory-lane documentary about the band. All current members as well as Michael Nicklasson (ex-bass) and Fredrik Johansson (ex-guitar) are interviewed, and a host of people from the early Gothenburg scene share their anecdotes and memories. Among others, Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates, Grotesque etc), Anders Iwers (Tiamat, Ceremonial Oath) and Fredrik Nordström (Studio Fredman) appear in the film, which spans for approx. 47 minutes.
The DVD will also mark the premiere of the "Misery's Crown" promo video, shot earlier this year by Roger Johansson and Vasara Films. All our other promo clips from recent years are featured as well.
Furthermore, we undertook some extensive detective research, raiding our old homes to dig up long forgotten VHS tapes from the archives. A surprisingly large amount of footage was found, most of which never even got spread through the tape trading network at the time. In total, the "Live Archive" portion of the DVD features 21 tracks with a strong emphasis on old ("Skydancer" and earlier) material including some real rarities. Most of these songs were only performed live a handful of times, as shows weren't that frequent back then. Two of them ("Soulbreed" and "The Dying Fragment Of An Elderly Dream") are actually the only D.T. songs that were 100% completed but never recorded properly in studio. Both were written in the autumn of 1991.
To conclude - we're damn proud of this release, and more than sure that it will satisfy the high expectations of both old and new fans alike. Here's to the next 20 years!
More news including full track listing to be posted shortly.

We're pleased to announce that instead of spending the yuletide holidays in the usual lazy ways, we'll join up with a gang of other bastards for a short tour called "Darkness over X-mas". This will probably be the first time that we'll showcase material from the soon-to-be-recorded new album live.

Jivarp now endorsed by Drumcraft - July 19, 2009
Anders Jivarp has landed an endorsement deal with the German drum manufacturer Drumcraft.
"I'm very excited to play Drumcraft drums. They have exactly the sound and durability I'm looking for. Can't wait to record our new album with them."
More info will follow shortly on his artist page, and his customized kit can be seen below.
New album out early next year - July 3, 2009
Time to let you in on the plans for our upcoming ninth (or tenth, depending on how you count) full-length album. The as-yet-untitled beast will be recorded in September and October and released in early 2010 through Century media records.
We'll keep the recording setup completely in-house this time. Drums will be tracked in Daniel Antonsson's studio, while the remaining instruments will be immortalized in Martin Brändström's newly renovated Rogue music facilities. The mixing duties will once again be handled by Tue Madsen in his Antfarm studio in Denmark.
As for the music itself, it's a bit too early to delve into details, but the material feels diverse and fresh and covers all the facets of the D.T. sound. Those who are familiar with our songwriting process know that we always keep re-arranging and experimenting with the material until the recording starts, and while we currently have the basic foundations for around 10 songs, many things are still open. The final result is likely to surprise ourselves as well as you people.
Some tentative song titles are "I am the void", "Zero distance", "the burden of love alive", "Archangelsk" and "Memories in reverse", though these are subject to change as usual.
Well, more news will follow in due time...

D.T. & Sonata Arctica form poker team - May 12, 2009
As many of you know, Martin H and Martin B are great poker affictionados (the latter with a monthly column in Sweden's Poker Magazine). Together with Henrik and Marko of Sonata Arctica, they've formed an online poker team that will host regular tournaments at rockstarsofpoker.info.
The site is a collaboration with betfriends.com, and there is money as well as special band related goodies to be won. Next tournament will be held on May 17 @ 21:00 CET.
Somehow we got lured into a soccer tournament this past weekend. For me this was the first time on a soccer field since my athletic peak in 1982 but because we put together a great team we managed to get to the semi-finals, ending up with the bronze medal. Jonas, Anders, Martin, Daniel, Anders B and Per really delivered every step of the way and we had an awesome time exhausting ourselves in front of the cheerful 3000+ audience.
We are already in training for next year's showdown. Cheers and thanks to all who supported us.
Mikael
