One of our favourite venues in the US - Jaxx in Springfield, VA - will host the last show of the North American leg of the current tour. Apart from Firewind and Divine Heresy, Christian Death will also appear on the bill.
Unirock festival in Turkey confirmed - May 10, 2008
On June 22, we'll headline the Unirock festival in Istanbul. This marks our first show in Turkey since 2001, so we're very pleased to finally be able to come back.

Another successful tour has come to an end. Thanks to everyone that attended the gigs to show their support and make this such a memorable trip for us.
Finland was amazing, with a devoted and dedicated audience that didn't disappoint one bit. The highlight was the nearly sold out Tavastia show, which marked our first headline gig in Helsinki since 1996, when we played in the now legendary Lepakko club, supported by a young H.I.M. (!).
Russia and Ukraine was everything we expected and more, and it's no exaggeration to state that the performance in Moscow deserve a spot in the top 5 list of the best shows ever. We've been waiting for so many years to get over there, and other bands have spoken highly of the great reception they've gotten, but our sky high expectations were surpassed.
Finally, a huge thanks to everyone involved in the promotion/organization of these shows for their great professionalism and hospitality.
The rumours are true: We're indeed coming back to Latin America to play for some of the craziest metalheads that the globe has to offer. Mexico and Colombia is familiar ground, and we're looking forward to playing in Chile and Argentina for the first time ever.

Swedish indie pop group Obliq is releasing their debut album "Antenna" on March 14th. The album will be distributed in Japan and Sweden and through Itunes. Martin Brändström is doing guest keyboards on the track "Common places", so be sure to check it out.

We're pleased to announce that we'll appear at the Qstock festival, taking place in Oulu, Finland on July 26. Camden burning - Feb 11, 2008
The "British fiction" tour is over, and we'd like to send our warmest greetings to the crew, audience and the guys in Omnium Gatherum for making it an enjoyable and interesting trip. Photos and videos are beginning to surface on the usual sites, so do some searches to find.
The last show of the tour, at the Barfly in London, was definitely the most exciting of the lot. Apart from the sold out venue being packed with fans and friends from all over Europe, the blazing fire a mere two blocks away added a sense of urgency to the gig. Not knowing if the venue would have to be evacuated or - still worse - if we'd all go down like the Titanic orchestra if the flames would reach the nearby gas station, we played as if every note would be the last.

Russia calling - Feb 07, 2008
Finally! For the first time in our 19 year old career, we have the pleasure of announcing that we'll bring our madness to Russia. It's long overdue, so make sure that we'll prepare a very special show for the loyal supporters over there.
More details will follow in the near future, but these are the dates that just got confirmed:
Just a quick note informing you all that the UK run is going great indeed. After having completed a relatively large scale tour of Asia, it's a nice contrast to get back to small, intimate venues where the audience is close enough to be bathing in our sweat. The crowds so far have been amazing, and the Finnish lads in Omnium Gatherum are delivering the goods
- so everything is going according to the plan.
As can be seen in the touring agenda to the left, we're now confirmed for the Peace & Love festival in Borlänge, Sweden. Exact playing date isn't known as of yet. Further festival/tour announcements will follow shorly; there are lots of exciting things in the pipeline.

"Projector" and "Haven" to be re-released in Japan - Nov 30, 2007
To coincide with our
shows in the land of the rising sun, "Haven" and "Projector" will be released in new versions. Both albums will feature lengthy liner notes by sensei Stanne detailing the writing and recording process as well as the inner working of the band at the time of creating the songs.
"Projector" will feature the extra track "Exposure" - previously unreleased in Japan - and "Haven" will be graced with "Cornered" as bonus song.

The shows in Hellas this weekend went great, and the Greek audience was (as usual) nothing short of fantastic. Also, huge thanks to Mr. Johan Edlund of Tiamat for lending his vocal chords to "Misery's crown" in Thessaloniki. It was the first time that we've had a guest musician onstage, and it was truly a memorable event.

Tour update! - Oct 9, 2007
Things are so far going fine on the Eastpak Antidote tour. With The UK freshly conquered, we're now sharpening our blades to strike through the heart of the European mainland. Tonight's show in Den Bosch, Holland is entirely sold out, so it'll be a blast for sure. Some fan-filmed video snippets are up on YouTube, so do a quick search if so inclined. In the studio again! - Sep 20, 2007
Just got back home from one of the most bizarre and amusing recording experiences in a long time. As a special performance for the Swedish radio network, we did a "live in studio" recording for their P3 Live Session show.
The format consists of a band playing in front of an audience of 8th grade school kids, who are then invited to ask questions to the musicians afterwards. The result - a 90 minute show featuring about an hour of music interspersed with interviews with all the band members - is scheduled for broadcast on October 24. In addition, there will be be video footage available. Stay tuned for more specific info as the date draws near.

In true D.T. fashion, Bloodstock and Summerbreeze were ravaged last weekend, spelling an end to the festival season of 2007. This was probably our most active summer ever, and while our sweaty bodies are recovering from the mayhem, preparations for the upcoming tours are being made.

Last weekend's performance at Metal show IV in Latvia turned out to be a bizarre experience. Just when we were ready to hit the stage, we were informed that the PA system had broken down during the previous band's show, needing extensive repair. After a lot of waiting, things got resolved, and we finally could start our set at around 01:30 AM. Huge thanks to all the great Latvian metalheads for their patience and support!

Festivals are going fine, and footage is starting to appear on YouTube, Flickr and the usual media sharing sites. Speaking of Hultsfred, this show was the first to display a set of animations and projections during our performance. The whole gig was filmed with pro equipment and there's a possibility that the footage will be publically available in the future.

The festival season has began! Last weekend, we conquered Spain (Lorca rock) and Italy (Gods of metal), and yesterday our first appearance at Sweden rock took place.in front of a huge crowd of fans showing their support despite the early hour. The "Fiction" material translates well to the live environment, and we're looking forward to bringing the mayhem to Sauna open air in Finland tomorrow. See you there!

Swedish tour announced - May 28, 2007
Touring details for the autumn are slowly starting to take shape. Plenty of exciting stuff is being planned, and more announcements are in the pipeline, but for now we can let you know that we'll embark on a small tour throughout our home country in the beginning of September. These are the dates:
5/9: Trädgårn, Göteborg
6/9: Nalen, Stockholm
7/9: Sigurdsgatan 25, Västerås
8/9: KB, Malmö
More details regarding support bands etc will follow shortly. Tickets will be available via Ticnet.se and the usual outlets soon.
Apparantly, a minor amount of the limited edition "Fiction" copies contain a manufacturing error making it impossible to access the screensaver content. Pre-festival update - May 18, 2007
As the splash page implies, things are indeed looking victorious!
"Fiction" has been out for a few weeks now, and as no-one can have failed to notice, the response has been truly phenomenal. In all fairness, we're used to our albums reciveving rave reviews from fans and critics alike, but the reactions to our new little baby have exceeded everything we've experienced before - a lot of people even have dubbed it our best album (at last we could dethrone the 12 year old "The gallery" from that spot).
Here in Sweden, the feedback has been nothing short of fantastic. #1 and #2 in the soundchecks of the two leading metal magazines (Sweden Rock and Close-up) and great reviews in all the major newspapers and tabloids - not to mention good chart positions, healthy sales and a general thumbs-up from the metal community.
Promotion activities have been manyfold and weird. Apart from the usual tons of interviews, Mikael and Martin B. recently graced the premises of MTV Nordic to appear in the morning show "Mycket mer än müsli", in which they discussed the new album as well as playing some poker.
Gig-wise, we'll have our busiest summer ever, playing the three most prolific Swedish festivals (Hultsfred, Arvika and Sweden Rock) as well as heading out all over europe. Touring plans for the autumn are starting to take shape, and as soon as we know anything definite, we'll let you in on the information.

In other Finland-related news, "Fiction" entered the national charts at a remarkable #19. Other chart positions include #12 in Sweden and #59 in Germany. More updates to follow shortly.
UPDATE: Good news from Italy: "Fiction" entered the official album chart at #34 and the indie chart at #9 - a big leap forward from "Character"!

For those who haven't heard the album yet, we've now uploaded another "Fiction" tune to our MySpace page, namely "Terminus (where death is most alive)". Also check out the video clip of said song from our Australian tour last autumn and see if you can spot the differences.
Furthermore, we're now confirmed for Sweden's biggest festival, Hultsfredsfestivalen, which takes place June 14-16.

Just got back home from the tour, which without doubt was our most successful US trek so far. Huge thanks to everyone involved (bands, crew, audience). It was an honour sharing the stage with three of the best bands in the metal scene, and every night was a great experience. The final show in Los Angeles turned out to be a real highlight, with all sort of bizarre and wicked things taking place during the gig. Luckily we had doctors available!
As soon as time permits, we'll update the homepage with photos from the shows. We've already been sent quite a lot of 'em, but if you have quality pics, please don't hesitate to email them to darkhq@gmail.com.
"Fiction" is released today in some territories, and the reviews are starting to appear online. A quick google search will show you that the response so far is nothing short of monumental, and we'll have a collection of review links up in the near future. Even Blabbermouth loves it!
The below-mentioned tour EP eventually showed up, and we're told that they're now available through Hot Topic as well.

"Focus shift" tour EP soon for sale - April 4, 2007
Starting from tomorrow's date in Chicago, we'll be selling a special 2-track sampler EP featuring "Focus shift" and "Terminus (where death is most alive)" from the upcoming album. The sampler was originally intented to be available during the whole tour, but due to manufacturing problems we won't receive them until tomorrow (fingers crossed).
The EP is extremely limited and will be sold for a measly two bucks at our merchandise stand. A great and legal way for old and new fans to get a preview taster of "Fiction".
Tour update - March 30, 2007
Just arrived to Millvale, PA where we're playing at Mr.Smalls Theatre, which actually is an old church - now isn't that weird?
The tour is fantastic, with the shows in Montreal and Toronto being the highlights so far. We also managed to fit in a photosession with Peter Herneheim, who immortalized our pale and miserable faces against even more pale and miserable industrial backgrounds. Looking forward seeing the result!
Last, an important message from Michael Nicklasson:
I've gotten some mails and questions concerning my health during this tour, from fans that are worried about my weight loss and my numbness. The thing is that I just got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes one week before this tour, so I just started with insulin. I'm getting a little better day by day and it`s a real struggle for me, but I'm trying to do my best for the band and the fans. I wanted to post this so everyone knows the facts about this. As it is right now my body doesn't work as it´s supposed to and that means that I'm very tired all the time, not having the energy that I used to have...but as written above, I just want to say to those who are worried about me: don't be - ok? Now you know why things are as they are, and I'm getting a little bit better everyday...Thanx for your concerns everyone, I will not give up!

Sweden rock festival confirmed - March 23, 2007
About bloody time: We're finally appearing at the Sweden rock festival. Great news! Exact date of playing will be announced shortly.
Brief tour update: We're three shows into the U.S. trek and things are going absolutely great so far. Just arrived to Worchester, MA and have devoured our daily donut-and-coffee breakfast. A decision to play "Icipher" live for the very first time has been taken, so hopefully it'll go down well. If not, it never happened.

Another Swedish D.T. appearance is now official: Arvikafestivalen.
The festival takes place July 12-14. More info on exact playing date/time/stage will be posted here as soon as we get to know it.

Parallel to answering media interviews during their upcoming promo days in the Century Media headquarter in Germany, Swedish melodic/death legends DARK TRANQUILLITY will be available for fan questions as well!
On Thursday, March 8th, vocalist Mikael Stanne and guitarist Martin Henriksson will answer a number of fan questions during a two-hour online stream starting at 18:00 CET. During the stream the band will also premier the new “Focus Shift” video clip as well as play some clips by other Century Media artists.

Summer breeze + Bang your head + Gods of metal - Feb 28, 2007
Once again, we'll appear at the Summer breeze festival in the picturesque surroundings of Dinkelsbühl, Germany. Exact date for the show will be announced later on.
Also, we're confirmed for another German festival, namely Bang your head, which will take place June 22-23.
In addition, we have the pleasure of once again playing at the Gods of metal festival in Milan, Italy. June 3 is the date.

The promo video for "Focus shift" was shot last week. Once again, we're working with director Roger Johansson, who did a great job on the "Lost to apathy" and "The new build" videos from "Character". As previously mentioned, the "Focus shift" video will be featured on the limited edition version of "Fiction".

New year, new adventures - Jan 4, 2007
2007 has started - as most of you doubtlessly have noticed - and things are busy in the D.T. headquarters. Our team of highly trained gnomes is in the process of finalizing the details surrounding the upcoming album - title, song selection, running order, artwork, photo sessions, video(s), pre/post-album EP, eventual bonus DVD footage, PR, touring/festival activity and everything in between. Official YouTube channel + studio footage! - December 2, 2006
That's right - it's time to jump on the Web 2.0 bandwagon! We recently opened a YouTube channel for the purpose of displaying exclusive video clips and rare gems from the D.T. treasure chest, and the first offering is a live video of "The treason wall" from the Gwang Myeong festival in South Korea earlier this autumn. More clips will be added in the near future.
UPDATE - A video clip from the recording sessions of the new album can now be found below. It's pretty short, but captures the general vibe as well as offering some crude-but-hopefully-interesting previews of some of the new songs.
